December UTAH

a couple pics from December so far:
This year I decided to not stress the tree (if you know my I'm an anxious person about things ;) The monday after Thanksgiving we had FHE and let the kids help up put of lights and decorate the tree--it was a memorable experience--soo worth not having a perfect tree!

okay so the story behind this is Nephi. For a Family Home Evening one time we were leaning about Nephi slaying Laban in the scriptures--Davey picked up the sword and was wanting to act it out- so we went with it. He told Dad he was Laban and Davey picked up the sword and said, "I'm Nephi and the spirit told me to kill Laban----but I smote Sam and Lemueal instead!!" --sorry if that's weird-i thought it was funny he changed the story (though it wouldn't have been funny if that was what really had happened long ago)--They then preceeded to attack daddy for a very long time and Vannah sat on his head.

We had a Christmas party with my Grandma Brown (my mom's mom) and grandpa- the kids got to decorate a Christmas tree and had a lot of fun. My grandma is the sweetest lady ever- and I love my grandpa dearly too--he's got great stories to share about when he was in the Navy--They now live right down the street from my mom in Alpine so I've gotten to see them more over the holidays- which is priceless memories for me and my kids!

Re-decorating the tree with lots of little ornaments my grandma Brown gave us

more parties and pictures to come later-- before christmas? probably not- but Merry Christmas until then-- I am very excited about some presents we got people this year and I cannot wait for my kids to open some presents! We are SO blessed- there are so many out there who are struggling (esp. with our economy)- be thankful and drop a gift off to a local shelter or do something else to give back to our Savior. Serve--it's the true meaning of Christmas!

November fun.

So I know it's time to update our coming and goings. Here's some pics to say it all:

I got a sand and water table on ksl for cheap and filled it with rice- it has provided hours of fun for the kids- it has really made the cold outside more bearable. Other things we’ve been up to is reading lots of books and doing craft projects and coloring. I also got a LOT of costumes at a yard sale last summer and finally pulled those out for the kids (decided to keep the really good ones for Christmas)- they have had a LOT of fun- Davey loves the incredible one and the pirate and the cowboy hats and ropes.

Savannah and me ready for church- do we look alike?

So this is Thanksgiving at my mom’s house in Alpine. We went around and said what we were thankful for—it was really touching—our family has been so blessed this year. Oh and while that was going on—I had cleared the extra tables except Davey and Savannah’s plates (safe food) and thought Savannah was into the mashed potatoes—however when I got closer she has smeared BUTTER all through her hair—YUCK! (unfortunately she likes to put food in her hair almost everyday it’s like a ritual or something ;)

BYU vs. Air Force game=FUN

Umm how to explain this? My Daughter is adorable—she makes me laugh everyday—she is my sunshine. She likes to try daddy’s things on (why daddy’s I don’t know—she likes cars and swords too-I was thinking the other day—she (one day-not now) needs another sister around to help bring girly things out in addition! (I’m fine with her loving cars and sports and being tough) oh and yes the picture with the hat—she has Davey’s old pjs on AND a boy hat—so that doesn’t’ help much. She’s so full of personality- I love it!

I must be very slow at getting the kids lunch in this house because Savannah falls asleep at lunch pretty often- ha! (maybe she needs two naps—but I can’t give up my time to cook/clean when both kids are sleeping every-day- naps make everything better!)

OH- BYU UTAH GAME = AWESOME!!

October and UT

we are here in ut and are loving it so far--we've gotten to see lots of friends and are close by family. Davey keeps saying (whenever something doesn't go his way--which is often)--"we have to go home to pocatewo IDaho" or grandma's house"- we have a lot more space here it's nice--the kids are all of as udden very occupied because we are using the 3rd room as a play room--where Davey's train set is--I realize that I think the reason we have such a hard time in our apartment in Id is because we are all crammed into ONE TINY ROOM- what else are the kids suppsoed to do but want me?!! I miss my friends in Id though--hello guys! I miss waking up every morning and working out with some of the most amazing girls- don't forget me--I'm coming back in JAN!
okay so finally some pictures:
end of October--my step sisterBobbie Brooke got married--these pics are from the wedding luncheon the night before and the salt lake temple the day of--I love my sisters--aren't they so beautiful (and FUN!) Rachael just turned 16! I cannot believe it--she is such a mature and fun person to be around--she's go grown up (and SO beautiful--looking like my mama)- Becca's been begging me to get her these pics:

my newest neice Gracie-belle! (Grace Isabelle)

Becca being her silly self on the drive home--

Davey and Savannah with their cousin Sadie--she lives in Texas with her mom and dad (Kody and Jamie--so fun to see you guys--we miss you)

Life in the slow lane..

1st off--I need to find out how to get the thing on my side panel that shows the blogs in order of who posted the most recent new post..then I'll never have to guess again--instructions?!!

#1--my children have turned into monsters who run amuck and destroy anything and everything in their paths---help! an small example of everyday life:

Random pics with the kids.

great story: I told Davey that daddy was coming home--he got so excited and I told him he wasn't coming home yet--but soon (15 min away)--Davey marched outside--sat down on the front porch inbetween the two balls and waited so loayly(I know--I made that word up) for dad!

every night the kids ride up on daddy's back (horsey) for bedtime-they love sitting on our backs--they attacked me one night (Savi spilled water on the couch which I sat on--incase you're wondering)--cuties!

These pictures were during a family pj party movie--I bought candy for the kids (1st time) and something posessed me to let Savannah have hot tamales--she loved them (of course)--she loves hot and spicy things--today she was eating dad's homeade salsa (spicy and very strong onions) by the handful- I kid you not!

finger puppets that davey loves to play with--also--he's doing great potty training (working on some things) but I'm proud of him (actually--it's about time--he's past age THREE! ;)

Savannah fancies putting food inbetween her toes--from Quinoa to potatoes to whatever we are eating--if it will mash in there---she'll do it-yuck!

David--stepped on a star cookie cutter (which the kids got out while enptying and throwing all the stuff from my pantry--cans, flours, etc--yea I told you they are becoming monsters ;)--poor kid--it hurt him for a couple days--he got a cool bandage that daddy made a BYU picture on-- (he's also pretenting to be a dog in these pictures--I made a rotisierrie chicken for dinner and was saving the bones and stuff to make broth and he thought it was cool that there was a bone there he could use like the dogs do--haha

We got two goldfish (they were used as centerpieces as a Relief Society meeting last thursday--so I brought them home--David was very adamant about naming them Nemo and Dorkus---finally he settled on Dotty. Savannah can make a fish face and say and sign fish and she wants me to take them down everyday to watch--they love it! (though Nemo died a day or two later--dotty is still living strong--though I'm pretty sure our fun is short lived--since they are cheap goldfish!)

Savannah Marie is 16 months old (almost 16 1/2 months)---here's some pictures of today--and a couple of Davey at that age...Savnnah has a glare (here it is) that she will stare me down when we are butting heads---I love her attitude- it will come in handy...someday.

two stories...

a couple stories about our kids.

yesterday for lunch I pulled out some yummy soup for lunch--Savannah started chowing down and davey started eating..I came over a couple minutes with my salad for lunch. HA my son said, "mom I don't want soup- I want salad!" I thought it wouldn't stick but after his insisting I made him a big bowl--he ate it all!!! haha I'll have to teach him not to ask for salad instead at school--I think he'd get made fun of (Dave's work used to make fun of him and call him salad boy--I'd have to send him with soemthing else to stop the trend)

a couple days ago Davey came in with mascara all over his eye--wish I had taken a picture.

TODAY--Davey was supposed to be taking a nap on my bed--daddy got home from school and I asked him to check on the sleeping kids upstairs--he came back asking how long davey had been up there "sleeping" I guess he was sitting on our bed-had gotten into daddy's scriptures (and scripture markers) and drew all over our sheets!

Savannah Marie:
is obsessed with going in the street- we are working on it! she also fights back with her brother--she can full on knock him down--I feel like I have opposite kids--Davey is sensitive and Savannah purposely teases him. She isn't liking loves or hugs or cuddles all that much anymore--it's sad--she's growing up- she going into nursery Dec. 1st! I can't believe it! (still far away) I'll be sad - just a little though.

Yesterday- Dad was in the front roon and we were playing outside- Savannah wanted to come inside so I sent her in--well I guess she never made it to daddy- because he came out to tell me we walked in the her sitting in the sink holding our huge CHEFS KNIFE!!! ah!! she has been climbing everything--gotta keep an eye on her. (did I mention that she figured out how to climb out of her crib (well hang from it- really)-joy!

okay so that was more than two stories--stories about two kids I guess.

something about daddy- he likes Phineus and Ferb.
mommy made allergen safe donuts and PIZZA!!

nothing much..

nothing much to write about-(really just wanted to get those huge pictures of me out of the spotlight)--we're sad that the warmth and summer is running away. Savannah wants to go on our "walks" everyday--we've been walking all over pocatello--gone to parks, the state fair--and one of our favorite hiking places is citicreek--there is a gREAT hike that Davey loves their--that runs along a brook and has "cave" trees, etc--we've been having fun! I don't want to see it end. I'm really enjoying being at my own house- we've only got until nov. 1st until we have another internship in UT--so I'm loving the time here in my own space...lots of new awesome people in the ward--and so many friends---we love it here! Hope all is well with everyone else.
